The Wuxi Artists Association opened an exhibition of traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, watercolors and prints at the city's Sujia Gallery on Feb 21, displaying more than 80 local works capturing the beauty of nature.
The association members have been working together to create their sketches since the 1980s. Taking a coach to the countryside, these artists have been to plenty of villages in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces and sketching the unique characteristics of each place.
Many artists in the group have more than 30 years' experience and whose outstanding skills and observation ability add vitality to their works.
In recent years, two landscape oil paintings by Wuxi artists have won awards in national art exhibitions.
The exhibition is open daily to visitors and runs until March 6.
