The 2016 Oculus International Equine Summit, themed "health and wellbeing of the modern sport-horse", ran from Feb 27 to March 1 at Jiangyin-based Heilan International Equestrian Club (HIEC), Wuxi, according to china.com.
It was the first time for the event to be held in China and saw more than 230 people attending.

The summit was aimed at educating delegates about the fast growing and untapped Chinese equestrian industry and helping elevate the level of professional equine care in emerging countries.
During the summit, HIEC also opened a unique equestrian museum showcasing more than 60 different breeds of horses from all over the world, as well as historic carriages and art.

HIEC is one of the most prestigious equestrian clubs in China with two international veterinarians, ten riding instructors and more than 130 horse trainers, as well as some 400 sport and show horses, imported from 30 countries and regions.
The club is equipped with a competition venue, a training center, a performance center and a western equine hospital facility.

In recent times HIEC has set four Guinness world records, including the largest-scale equestrian dressage set in 2014. Other world records include, the club with the most horse breeds, the most times to mount and dismount from a horse within 30 seconds, and the greatest number of obstacles jumped within one minute with four horses reined by one person.
Oculus Insights was formed as a veterinary business education program, with the goal of offering business education opportunities for veterinarians, and their key support staff throughout the world.
