The 2016 Miss Tourism International Wuxi semifinal was staged at the Grand Canal Bund in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province on the evening of Sept 10.
A total of 18 contestants took part to compete for the last 10 places in the final to be held in the city in the near future.
The Wuxi round of the Miss Tourism International contest will see the finalists go on to represent China in the worldwide competition. Launched in 1994, the pageant aims to promote cultural exchanges across the globe.
An official from Wuxi's Helie sub-district said that the Grand Canal Bund was a perfect location to host the contest, and that it has held a great number of events in the past, such as exhibitions, concerts and bazaars.
The 10 finalists who made it through will take part in the making of a promotional film to be shot at the Grand Canal Bund.
