Located in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District (Xinwu Ditrict), the 30,000 square-meter factory of the Beijing-headquartered bike-sharing startup Mobike, can produce 14,000 IoT (internet of things) compliant bikes every day, the Wuxi Daily reported.

Bikes manufactured by Mobike boast an embedded GPS system, a free-floating parking mode and a burglar-proof lock design. As long as you have a smartphone and a deposit of 299 yuan ($43.54), you can easily "rent" the bike using a mobile app. Whenever riders want to use a bike, they can open the app on their phone and search for the nearest bike available. By scanning QR code on the bike, the bike will unlock and is free to use. When the trip ends, users can park the bike in any public area along the street, and rescan the code to pay for the trip.

Wuxi's great foundation in the manufacturing industry, favorable facilities and advanced IoT technology were just what Mobike needed when seeking a location for its manufacturing plant.

Mobike has investigated the Wuxi's transportation system and will soon be put into use in the city.
