A new version of a video documenting US photographer and online celebrity Jay Mantri's ten-day tour of five cities in East China's Jiangsu province, including Wuxi, has been released.
The famous travel photographer, renowned for giving his work away for free via his website and social media channels, traveled around Jiangsu in September 2016 at the invitation of Jiangsu Tourism Bureau to experience firsthand the landscape, delicacies and culture of the province.
The trip is entitled "Discover Jiangnan: The southern reaches of the Yangtze River", where historic water towns can be found everywhere.
During his trip to Wuxi, Jay made his first stop at the Turtle Head Park. He rented a small skiff, rowed down the river and cast a fishing net, following the daily routine of local fishermen down the centuries.

"It feels unreal, as if I were in a Chinese oil painting," he said. "Standing on the skiff and admiring the surrounding resplendent landscape took me on a trip back to hundreds of years ago."

Jay selected Yixing, the county-level city in Wuxi, as his final destination, where he developed a passion for drinking tea. Yixing is also a perfect spot for collectors and connoisseurs to find ancient purple clay pottery, for which the area is famous.
Captivated by the fine purple clay teapots, Jay decided to try his hand at making a teapot under the instruction of a local craftsman. He kept his final work as a special souvenir of his Jiangnan trip. He shared his feelings with his fans on social media.
