The city of Wuxi in Jiangsu province entered into a strategic partnership with China Electronics Technology Hik Group on Feb 28, further promoting the city's Internet of Things (IoT) industry.
An IoT engineering application center, a state smart city infrastructure operations center, an IoT industry capital operation platform and a provincial IoT technology innovation center will be built as a result of the new partnership. China Electronics Technology Hik Group will invest a total of 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in the IoT projects.
An official signing ceremony was held in Nanjing on Feb 28 to mark the great deal. Li Qiang, the highest official of Jiangsu province, attended the ceremony to extend his congratulations to both sides.

Li said the IoT industry serves as a major emerging industry in Jiangsu province and will bring critical influences to change the life. He said the government will create a good investing environment and optimize services to support CETC and make contributions to the development of China's IoT industry.
Xiong Liqun, secretary of Party group and chairman of CETC, appreciated the support from Jiangsu government. He gave credit to the solid IoT industry foundation of Wuxi city and vowed to make use of its advantageous resources to help raise the city's IoT industry to a new level in five to eight years.

China Electronics Technology Hik Group is a subsidiary of state-owned China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), a large-scale enterprise engaged in the engineering and construction of essential military/civil information system, as well as in the research and manufacturing of major electronics equipment, communication and electronics products, key components and software.
Hopefully, the city of Wuxi will step further claiming its prestigious reputation in the field of IoT industry.
