The art students also visited several local communities and leisure parks—all cultural hubs or residential areas popular among elderly people in Wuxi—to deepen their understanding of the daily lives of Wuxi's elderly.
First held in 2004, the summer school has been a pioneering collaboration between Chinese and European colleges. It has led to the creation of numerous innovative designs conceived upon cross-cultural collaborations.
