Even though the blooming season for plum blossom is over, the Plum Garden in Wuxi still has a vibrant program of events lined up for autumn. A one-month light festival is now underway at the garden.
Running for its eight consecutive year, the scenic spot's annual light show features dozens of multicolored illuminations arranged into 17 display clusters spread over the 948-mu (630,000-square-meter) park, all made using traditional techniques.
Glowing octopuses, dolphins, whales, clownfish and many other ocean creatures have turned the park into a beautiful ocean fantasyland for visitors.
While designed in a traditional style, the colorful lanterns are also fitted with the latest optical technology, LED lights and projected images, which are not only more environmentally friendly but create a more spectacular effect.
