According to reports, snowstorms swept across many provinces last weekend, including Shanxi, Hubei, Shandong and Jiangsu.
Some cities across Jiangsu province have canceled school from last Wednesday to the end of Jan, and final exams will be also be postponed. Middle school and primary school students in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, were among those whose classes were canceled.
The heaviest snow fell on Jan 26-27, a rare occurrence in Wuxi. Snowy and icy weather poses risks for traffic and pedestrians and can even incur enormous economic loss. Many volunteers helped environmental sanitation workers remove snow and ice from the road.
