This year's National Science and Technology Week, falling on the third week of May as usual, opened in Wuxi Taihu Square on May 19.
A series of activities are taking place, including exhibition tours, film shows, robot and 3D-printing demonstration, campus festivals, lecture forums, teen competitions and many others.
Founded in 2001, the National Science and Technology Week is the largest, longest and well attended annual science event in China and features many science activities in cities across the country.
The science popularization week constitutes an important part of Wuxi's strategy of promoting science knowledge to its citizens.
A total of 182 major activities are being held during the week this year across the city, including the exhibition of innovative products which will be sponsored by 78 new high-tech companies and municipal science bases.
It is hoped that the exhibition will fully display the significant achievements Wuxi has obtained thanks to its innovation-driven strategy and robust industrial development.
Free medical treatment consultations using the latest technology are also being offered to visitors.
