The annual Shanghai World Travel Fair, which ran from May 24 to 27 this year, attracted approximately 750 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions.

Sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration and VNU Exhibitions Europe, the fair offers China's most dynamic markets a vibrant showcase of a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors.

Tourism enterprises from all over the world, including Taibo Tourism and Culture Company from Wuxi's Xinwu district, presented and promoted their tourism products and services during the fair.

Taibo Tourism and Culture Company used the opportunity to highlight Meicun as the erhu (a two-stringed bowed instrument) capital of China and its Meili Culture Town as the birthplace of Wu culture, the traditional culture of Jiangnan and the surrounding region (from Taihu Lake to south of the Yangtze River).

The four-day fair drew some 50,000 visitors and provided a host of different travel packages suiting a variety of reasons for travel, including medical cosmetology, overseas study, outdoor adventure and photography.
