Wuxi Murata Electronics Company (WME) is the largest overseas manufacturing base of the Japanese Murata Group. Among all foreign firms in the district, WME is a model of Party construction.
With the aid of the Party committee, several organizations were established at the company, including a women's federation and a labor union.

Zhou Hua, secretary of WME's Party committee, said that, in collaboration with the committee, WME built a bookstore in 2003 which has sold over 100,000 books to employees, encouraging the furthering of their knowledge and fostering an enterprising corporate culture.
"The company also provides funding and venues to support Party-related activities," Zhou added.

The district's Party committees also organized public welfare activities enabling foreign companies to adopt and shoulder a range of social responsibilities.
The committees also protect the interests of their staff members. Panasonic Energy (Wuxi) and some other foreign firms created breastfeeding rooms for employees with young children. Labor dispute mediation commissions were also established.
Regular lectures and classes also contribute much to employees' social and intellectual lives.
All achievements made by the Party committees in Xinwu have helped both foreign firms and the district itself flourish.
