A large-scale national dance drama featuring strong regional and ethnic characteristics debuted at the Wuxi Great Hall of the People, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 30.
The drama tells a story set at the foot of Tian Shan Mountains in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region where the Chinese People's Liberation Army works with local minority groups in China's interior border area to fight against gangsters.
As a high-quality art work designed to promote ethnic unity and to celebrate the 70th birthday of the People's Republic of China, the drama is funded by Jiangsu province and will be staged in more cities in China through the joint efforts of the Wuxi and Xinjiang Song and Dance Theatres.
