Toyokawa, Japan and Wuxi's Xinwu district signed to become sister cities on April 15, 2009.
Toyokawa is located in the Aichi-ken which is in the middle part of the Japanese Archipelago, with an area of 102.05 square kilometers and a population of about 140,000. Toyokawa, the center of the Japan's East Mikawa inland industrial belt, has a prosperous social economy, is developed in modern manufacturing industry, and is the production base of the Shinkansen bullet train and the largest production base of the Konica Minolta. The Konica Minolta has entered the Wuxi New District for development.
