The city of Sorocaba, Brazil, became a sister city of Wuxi on October 18, 2010.
With a population of 578,000 and favorablesocial infrastructure, it is the third largest city in St. Paul, and also a major industrial city and the fourth among the developed cities in the state.
It is also the home to the textile industry, one of the top 10 economic cities with the largest foreign investment in Brazil.
With electronics, communication, auto-parts and metal machinery as its pillar industries, Sorocaba is also one of the largest production bases of special tools and wind power poles in Latin America and the wind power base of Brazil.
Though the industry has been developing rapidly today, Sorocaba has not yet been polluted, and is a livable city for people.
