Wuxi and Lahti, Finland were signed to become sister cities on February 17, 2012.
Located by the Vesijarvi Lake and 100 kilometers away from Helsinki, Lahti is the seventh largest city in Finland, with an area of 154.5 square kilometers and a population of over 100,000. As one of the three world’s leading clean-tech clusters, it enjoys prosperous industry and commerce. It also accommodates the headquarters of Oilon Group, the famous burner company, and serves as a winter sport center in Finland.
It is home to many higher educational institutions such as Institute of Design of Lahti Polytechnic and Lahti University of Applied Sciences.
