The opening ceremony for the new Jabil 5G Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center was held in Wuxi on Sept 4.
The facility will focus on developing 5G technologies in the fields of design, research and development, maintenance testing and industrial applications.
During the opening ceremony, Jabil Group also signed an agreement with the Wuxi branch of China Mobile, Swedish tech group Ericsson and Wuxi National Hi-tech District to promote the development of a whole industrial chain of 5G applications.

Wuxi Deputy Mayor Gao Yaguang, Wuxi National Hi-tech District Director Feng Xiaochun and other attendees visited an exhibition of 5G applications after the ceremony.
They were interested in virtual reality equipment, 3D printers, translation machines and unmanned aerial vehicles, showcasing the latest developments in 5G technologies.
Jabil Group, one of the world's biggest electronics manufacturing service providers, built its Wuxi facility in 2004. It offers manufacturing services to customers in the computing and storage, networking, telecommunications and mobility industries.
After years of development there, its Wuxi operation has become Jabil's largest 5G intelligent manufacturing base with the most complete product line in the world.
