Agreements were signed on Sept 23 for two advanced manufacturing plants -- both worth over 1 billion yuan ($140.4 million) -- to settle in Wuxi's Huishan district.
Lai Wei Er Group, an intelligent packaging manufacturer, inked an agreement to invest $2 billion to build its Shangfu new material technology factory in Wuxi.
The plant, covering an area of 12.7 hectares, will manufacture intelligent high-end food packaging machinery and provide integrated packaging solutions.
Shanghai-based smart car electronics manufacturer Shanghai Shu'an Digital Technology Co will build a factory in Wuxi.
With an investment of 1 billion yuan, the new plant will cover an area of 8.3 hectares.
Introduced in 2016, the company's 70mai dash cams have occupied top spot in the sector's annual sales for two years, according to CEO Tang Yajie.
Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin attended the signing ceremony and talked about the development of intelligent manufacturing and technological innovation.
Huang said the municipal government would give its full support to Huishan and provide the two projects with a "green channel" for their approval and execution.
