The original dance drama Search, created through cooperation between the Wuxi Song and Dance Theater in East China's Jiangsu province and Canadian director Peter Quanz, started its North American tour on Oct 9.
Following rave reviews after its debut in August, the Wuxi Song and Dance Theater was invited by J.F, an event planning company in Canada, to perform in eight cities throughout the United States and Canada, including Vancouver, Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles.
The show is about a girl named Sophie, who searches for her biological Chinese parents after growing up in Canada with adoptive parents. She had been separated from her biological parents during an outing as a small child.
On hearing the news, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sent a congratulatory message to the Wuxi troupe saying that he is pleased to extend his warmest greetings to everyone attending the performance of Search and the event offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the beauty of China's rich cultural heritage through music, dance and the performing arts.
