Two original films produced by the Wuxi Radio & TV Station were shown at the world's largest entertainment market, MIPCOM, which was held in Cannes, France from Oct 14 to 17.
The two works, which included a Sino-French documentary called Sur Les Traces De Mon Père and an animated film called Tai, demonstrate the city's ability to produce high-quality television and film works.
Sur Les Traces De Mon Père tells the story of Wuxi native Xu Zhongnian, a famous scholar and translator. The film's director, Zhang Xuanya, spent about a year shooting the film, which is told from the perspective of Xu Zhongnian's son.
"Throughout the one-year production, we worked with a French team and moved between the two countries in search of suitable places to film," said producer Guo Wangru. "This film is an attempt to promote Wuxi cultural products around the world."
Tai is made up of 13 short films, running about 13 minutes each, that depict the future of Taihu Lake and people's lives there. All the concepts, stories, and characters were created by the Wuxi Radio & TV Station.
