A Taihu Scholars' Rock, a 6.5-ton gift from Wuxi to its sister city San Antonio in the US is being displayed at the San Antonio Museum of Art along the banks of the San Antonio River.
The rock arrived in San Antonio in May this year. It was officially put on display on Nov 6 for public viewing.
Sun Guoxiang, deputy secretary-general of the Standing Committee of the Wuxi Municipal People's Congress, attended the opening ceremony and said that Wuxi and San Antonio have had frequent interactions in culture, economics, trade, and education since the establishment of sister city relations in 2012. The Taihu Scholars' Rock symbolizes the friendship between the two cities.

A total of 26 works from the Wuxi Museum, including Chinese paintings, calligraphy, and sculptures, have been exhibited at the San Antonio Museum of Art, showcasing Wuxi culture to the people of San Antonio.
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg noted at the opening ceremony that art and history are helping bring the two cities closer together. He said the peoples of the two cities are eager to learn from each other and deepen cooperation.
The San Antonio Museum of Art will be hosting a free celebration of the Taihu Scholars' Rock on Nov 12.
