Coffee Now, a Wuxi beverage technology company, partnered with German software company SAP SE to develop the "SAP Cloud Platform" during the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on Nov 6.
The $1-million project was the first project signed by the Wuxi company during this year's CIIE.
The "SAP Cloud Platform" will make use of internet of things (IoT), clouds, and big data technology to upgrade capsule coffee machines. All of Coffee Now's products will be connected to the platform, which can analyze users' taste preferences and other relevant information.
"This marks the beginning of our IoT cooperation," said Liu Kan from SAP SE.
Located in Wuxi's Huishan district, Coffee Now is the only scientific research and industrial entity in China that has independent intellectual property rights for single-cup beverages and a complete single-cup beverage industrial chain.
Coffee Now has built a smart factory in Wuxi for the production of single-cup beverages. It can produce 3 billion single-cup beverages per year.
Lu Yingzhi, CEO of Coffee Now, said that the company will invest more in the "SAP Cloud Platform" in the future.
