Wuxi, a city in East China's Jiangsu province, is committed to the integration of culture and tourism in the Yangtze River Delta area, aiming to boost economic and social development.
During the five-day China (Wuxi) International Cultural and Art Industries Fair from Dec 5 to 9, a number of visitors admired art from over 20 countries and 23 Chinese provinces.
Moreover, the Wuxi National Digital Film Industrial Park, also known as Wuxi Studios, has been developing into a filming and post-production center for a new generation of entertainment. Its 12,000-square-meter studio workroom – the largest in Asia – has helped attract high caliber media companies to this small corner of East China.
Wuxi is also planning to build a Taihu Tourism Resort along with other cities bordering Taihu Lake, with the aim of developing all-for-one tourism in the Yangtze River Delta.
Experts from the Wuxi Tourism Industry Association suggested the city should offer more travel options to attract more tourists, including night tours.
Lyu Yi, a travel enthusiast, hoped for more discounts on tourist attractions and the introduction of a "one-card-pass" system in more art galleries, museums, and libraries throughout Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces.
A representative from the Wuxi Cultural Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau said they are working to introduce more programs to help Wuxi citizens enjoy the culture and tourism attractions in the Yangtze River Delta area.
