Over 150 cultural events have been held during the 7th Wuxi Internet Culture Season over the past 10 months.
The internet culture season, sponsored by the Wuxi Municipal Cyberspace Administration, attracted over 4 billion online and offline participants, who hiked around Taihu Lake, admired flowers, solved lantern riddles, and more.
The closing ceremony was held on Jan 2, and the best projects and events of the season were awarded.
An event where primary and middle school students learn about traditional cultures helped build a positive cultural image for the city. During the activity, children learned about Wuxi's intangible cultural heritage projects and products and collected a total of 349 related works and reports.
A short-video competition where participants shot aerial videos was also held. Over 200 works collected over the course of five months were viewed 3 million times in total.
In addition, a flash mob marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China won a provincial award recently. The event consisted of a number of professional singers and ordinary people, from toddlers to grandparents, who sang My Motherland and Me, one of the most patriotic songs in China, in Yuantouzhu Scenic Area in April.
