Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province rolled out a series of measures on Feb 5 to help enterprises get through the on-going virus prevention and control period when their businesses might be impacted, according to the local government.
The circular introduces a total of 20 support measures in various fields, including rental reductions or exemptions, financial support for small and medium-sized firms and other financial and government support.
To reduce the burden on companies -- many of which have been ordered to postpone the resumption of businesses to lower the risk of spreading the virus -- Wuxi will cut a certain amount of tax or extend time limits for tax declarations, the circular said.
For companies involved in producing supplies for curbing the novel coronavirus, a special approval channel is open to provide financial support.
Officials said the city is instructing financial institutions loosen policies on using and repaying loans and asking them to also increase credit support for small and medium-sized enterprises. Those having difficulties with repayments will have their loans extended or renewed, according to the circular.
For enterprises unable to keep appointments to appear in overseas economic fairs and exhibitions, the government will deliver subsidies covering up to 50 percent of the actual loss.
Civil service hotline 12345 is also available to help enterprises who have difficulty starting operations afterwards.
Let's take a look at the 20 measures.
