Jiangsu Sunshine Group, a well-known textile company in Jiangyin city, Wuxi, announced that it will begin producing 2,000 medical protective suits per day after receiving approval on Feb 7.
After the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, medical supplies were in short supply. Many companies are now transforming their businesses to provide medical supplies for workers fighting on the front lines of the epidemic.
In response to government calls, Jiangsu Sunshine Group began to devise ways to fulfill their protective suit quota. The company decided to adapt its existing three assembly lines for the manufacture of protective suits for police patrol and expressway inspection, which is one eighth of the total production capacity, said the company's General Manager Zhao Weiqiang.
"We've asked 100 workers to return to work ahead of schedule and purchased ten hot air seam sealing machines for the production of protective suits," Zhao added.
Their productions will be totally delivered by the local government instead of selling to the public.
Though the company is having difficulty delivering signed goods on time, they are trying their best to help workers amid the virus outbreak, according to Zhao.
