Over 500 students and singers joined together online to perform the song Tian You Zhong Hua Dang Zi Qiang (China is blessed) to express their confidence in the country's ability to contain the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The song was sponsored by the Wuxi Children's Palace. Over 350 students practiced at home, and 120 of them sent audio and video recordings to organizers.
Around 200 singers and members of over 10 choruses from around the country, including the National Symphony Orchestra Choir and the Tibet Treasure of Plateau Children's Chorus, participated in the song.
"As a musician, I feel a duty to support people fighting on the frontlines of the epidemic and to give confidence to those losing hope," said Yang Qiuming, who wrote the song.
Yang also shared the musical score and accompaniment tape online in hope that it would reach a larger audience.
