All the 6,174 industrial enterprises above designated size had resumed production in Wuxi as of Feb 21, as the daily number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus continues to decline.
Production capacity has returned to about 70 percent of regular capacity, according to statistics.
In order to guard against the spread of the novel coronavirus and ensure stable economic growth, the local government has released a series of measures to help companies resume production. About 743,000 employees of industrial enterprises above designated size had returned to work as of Feb 22, accounting for 65.2 percent of the total.
Su Bin, head of the Wuxi branch of Chinese carmaker SAIC Maxus Automotive Co, said they have also dispatched some of their employees to supporting enterprises to make sure that tires, seats and machinery produced by said enterprises can resume production at the same time. Seven supporting enterprises have benefited from the measures to resume production, Su added.

Meanwhile, the local government has released a plan to provide COVID-19 virus tests for all returned employees, aiming to help companies return to normal operations as soon as possible in a safe and orderly manner. The city also sent charter buses to pick workers up.
