System testing on Wuxi's new metro line 3 was resumed March 3, as the COVID-19 epidemic showed signs of slowing down.
Following a notice released by the local government, the 19-member team that looks after the subway signal system on line 3 have been back to work in Wuxi by Feb 20 and have prepared for testing and debugging the system.
Hundreds of functional tests will be conducted for system testing to verify the full functioning and safety of the system. The work will be mainly carried out around Shimen Road station to collect data of tracksides and make network roaming tests.
Wuxi metro line 3, which runs from Huishan Railway Station in Huishan district to Sunan Shuofang Airport Station in Xinwu district, is expected to finish debug system testing in May and be put into operation this year.
The 28.5-kilometer-long line has 21 underground stations and passes through Qianqiao town, Wuqiao, Qingshi Road, Wuxi Railway Station, Xihu Road, Taihu Garden community and Wuxi Sunan Shuofang International Airport.
Colored white and blue, the trains for line 3 have been upgraded compared to those on lines 1 and 2 to become more user-friendly. The latest technologies make the trains smarter, safe, quieter and more comfortable.
