Following scenic spots, cultural venues in Wuxi will be reopened to the public in waves starting March 5, according to officials.
Donglin Academy and the Former Residence of Xue Fucheng will be the first two venues to resume operations. Both will open from 9 am to 4 pm every day.
To ensure the safety of visitors, the number of people allowed to enter the venues at any given time will be limited. Also, visitors are required to produce a "green pass" (a green QR code which allows its holders to travel across Wuxi without worrying about coronavirus-related traffic restrictions), have their temperature taken at the entrance, and wear masks at all times.
Visitors should book tickets online with real names. They will be asked to show the QR code for booking and identity cards before entering.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Wuxi closed all of its tourist attractions and cultural venues Jan 24.
Although offline services and visits to cultural venues had been suspended, several of them launched online services through their digital platforms in an effort to provide services for local residents in Wuxi during the extended holiday.
Donglin Academy provides online visitors with 360-degree virtual views of each hall. People can also admire the venue's monuments, porcelain, calligraphy and painting works online. These services remain available for visitors on the website: www.wxdlsy.com.
