Museums in Wuxi held a variety of events to promote culture and engage with the public over the weekend, echoing the theme of the 2020 International Museum Day, which was "Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion".
As part of the activities held during International Museum Day on May 18, while being mindful of the epidemic, Wuxi Museum hosted both offline and online events.
A themed lecture on the Ancient Canal was held on May 17 in the lobby of Wuxi Museum, exploring the history of locals' life along the Ancient Canal in Wuxi. Events promoting the intangible cultural heritage of Wuxi were also organized.
In addition, Jiangsu Museum and Yixing Museum staged themed exhibitions introducing the treasures collected inside.

Jiangyin Museum will display archaeological discoveries found in Jiangyin city that showcase the 5,000-year-old civilization of Liangzhu, China's latest cultural site to make the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Museum of Chinese National Music is located at Yunhe Park in the Liangxi district of Wuxi, and is open for free all year round. There are 969 exhibits, including 468 music instruments and various books, photos, and video materials.
China Zisha Museum, or Yixing Ceramic Museum, is located at No 150 Dingshan North Road, Dingshu Town, Yixing of Wuxi. Admission is free.
