The 2020 Wuxi (Shanghai) Technology Cooperation Fair, which aims to deepen cooperation on technological innovation, was held in Shanghai's Lujiazui on June 18.
A total of 59 technological projects worth 10.36 billion yuan ($1.46 billion) were signed during the fair. The projects were related to industries such as integrated circuits, biomedicine and internet of things.
As cities in the Yangtze River Delta region are working to promote integrated development, most of the projects are from the region, according to officials.
The Wuxi Science and Technology Bureau will also join hands with the Shanghai R&D Public Service Platform to build a common service platform to share scientific and technological resources.
"Wuxi provided more than 60 sets of equipment valued at 1.2 billion yuan, including Sunway Taihu Light Supercomputer, to scientific research units and enterprises in the two places," said Sun Haidong, director of Wuxi Science and Technology Bureau. "Wuxi has also taken the lead in realizing the universality of innovation vouchers."
Wuxi's achievements in technological innovation have attracted many investors and companies from across the country. Among them is IC enterprise Maxscend Microelectronics Company, which was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's ChiNext board last year. The company's share price hit limit-up of 635.42 yuan on June 18, whose issue price was 35.29 yuan per share when first listed.
"We came from Shanghai to start our business in Wuxi," said Xu Zhihan, founder of Maxscend Microelectronics Company. "The quality business and living environments in Wuxi provide a strong backup for our development."
In recent years, Wuxi has released various favorable policies to attract talent and develop technological innovations. According to officials, now is the time to take the initiative in promoting Wuxi in the Yangtze River Delta region so as to realize the city's vision of leading the charge in technological innovation in the region.
