Sunac China Holdings Ltd, the Chinese mainland's fourth-largest developer by sales, agreed to expand its cultural tourism business in Yangshan, a town in Wuxi's Huishan district, on June 29.
A cultural tourism resort costing 12 billion yuan ($1.7 billion) and featuring things such as Yangshan honey peaches, volcanoes, and hot springs will be built in the town.
It is expected to cover an area of 5 square kilometers, with around 558 mu (37.2 hectares) of construction area. It is expected to accelerate the development of all-for-one tourism in Wuxi, according to officials.
Sunac China Holdings Ltd has carried out its flagship project in Wuxi -- Wuxi Sunac Resort, which opened last June and became a popular tourist destination throughout the Yangtze River Delta region. The resort is home to the Xiake Mountain Roller Coaster, which will be the world's tallest, fastest roller coaster with a speed of 118 kilometers per hour.
In addition, 10 other projects costing around 1.8 billion yuan were also signed in Yangshan town. They revolve around intelligent transportation and high-end equipment manufacturing.
