Wuxi Transport Industry Group will take over Ruili Airlines from Yunnan Jingcheng Group, according to a deal signed on Aug 4.
With the deal, Wuxi is expected to be the first city in East China's Jiangsu province to own a local airline.
Wuxi Party Secretary Huang Qin attended the signing ceremony and was bullish on the cooperation with Jingcheng Group. Huang said that the deal is expected to help Wuxi to develop as a transport hub in southern Jiangsu.
According to Huang, Ruili Airlines will be based in Wuxi and Kunming in the future, which also gives more chance for its development. The local government will give full support to the project.
