Wuxi hosted an exchange meeting to promote cooperation in developing the digital economy with Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 20.
A total of 47 deals worth 6 billion yuan ($867.9 million) were signed during the meeting. The deals include building industrial bases, digital platforms and innovation centers with a focus on internet of things (IoT), big data, artificial intelligence and integrated circuits.
According to Wuxi Mayor Du Xiaogang, the city is striving to become a national demonstration city for digital economy development. During the meeting, he welcomed universities, scientific institutes and enterprises in Hangzhou to develop related projects in Wuxi.
A development environment report released by economic research institute H3C during the meeting showed that Wuxi is ranked first among recommended cities in China for digital economy development in 2020.
Wuxi and Hangzhou have carried out a series of IoT cooperation projects, which have laid a solid foundation for further partnership. Du said the Wuxi government will continue to improve the city's business environment to facilitate the implementation of cooperation projects between enterprises and scientific institutes in the two cities.
Du also attended a meeting with Zhejiang's industry associations that are related to the digital economy, during which experts and scholars gave suggestions on Wuxi's smart city construction, digital transformation and industrial internet development.
