Three Wuxi-based high-tech enterprises have broken into the prestigious Top 50 list of enterprises in China in big data development, according to a report released in Beijing Aug 27.
The three enterprises based in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province include Huayun Data Holdings Ltd, Fanruan Software Co Ltd and Inspur Droso Big Data Industrial Development Co.
The report was jointly issued by the China Center for Information Industry Development at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Big Data Industry Alliance of China.
They set up an evaluation index system scoping multiple aspects such as enterprise scale, R&D investment, innovation capability, number of in-house developed apps, product and program maturity, investment and development potential.
With leading technologies and advantages in the fields of big data and cloud computing, Huayun Data has been listed among China's top 20 big data "unicorns" -- startup companies valued at $1 billion or more.

In recent years, Wuxi has progressed markedly in the software services industry. Modern technologies such as big data and BI have been applied to fields such as education, medicine and the internet of things, according to the Wuxi Municipal Economic and Information Committee.
