A promotional meeting for the 16th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo was held in Beijing on Aug 28.
The expo, scheduled to be held from Nov 14 to 16, will showcase thousands of designs from over 200 domestic and foreign design enterprises and institutions at a 20,000-square-meter exhibition hall at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center.
Four themed exhibitions will display designs from China Patent Award-winning enterprises and outstanding global design enterprises, local art, and geographical indications.
The event will also include an opening ceremony, two award ceremonies for the 21st China Design Patent Award and the 9th Taihu Award Design Competition, and three forums themed on innovative designs, the protection of designs and intellectual property, and innovation in additive manufacturing.
The top winner of the 9th Taihu Award Design Competition will be offered one million yuan ($147,573) in prize money. Half of the prize money will be given in cash and the rest will be given as financial support in the form of rent payments for office space and talent apartments, intellectual property loans, and insurance subsidies.
Established in 2000, the China (Wuxi) International Design Expo is the only international design event sponsored by the National Intellectual Property Administration.
