A white 5G patrol robot has been seen on the streets of Wuxi in recent days.
The robot is about 1.6 meters in height and equipped with eight cameras. The main camera on top of it can be raised and lowered and rotated 360 degrees.
The robot, the first of its kind in Wuxi, is equipped with remote patrol and AR sensing.
With the help of 5G technology, the robot can transmit live dynamic pictures to the background system at the police station in real time. It is also equipped with infrared temperature sensors, according to a policeman at the Liangxi Road Police Station.
In addition, people can press the "alarm" button on the front of the robot to call the police in case of emergency.
"We import a map of the area into the robot, and it can then patrol the scene automatically," the policeman added. It is capable of steering around objects.
Modern technologies are also being used at the Liangxi Road Police Station. For example, the equipment room of the police station has installed intelligent police equipment cabinets, allowing them to be opened through facial recognition. It will be recorded each time a piece of equipment is moved.
"We hope this high-tech equipment will help us deal with police affairs and emergencies more efficiently," said the policeman.
