Three scenic areas in Wuxi were included in a provincial list of nighttime cultural and tourism commercial blocks recently released by the Jiangsu provincial culture and tourism bureau.
The three listed areas were Qingming Bridge Historical and Cultural Block, Nianhuawan Buddhist Tourism Town and Heilan Feima Water Town.

According to new guidelines on building "nighttime commercial blocks" released by the provincial department of culture and tourism, "nighttime commercial blocks" refer to commercial areas that combine distinctive local culture and nighttime sightseeing tours. The areas are expected to boost culture and tourism consumption by promoting tourism products and influential brands.
The guidelines layout five steps for building the blocks -- exploring the unique culture and tourism resources of the area, creating an appropriate plan, designing several nighttime activities and tourism products, and improving supporting facilities and management services.
This year, Jiangsu has been making efforts to bolster its nighttime economy and plans to build over 30 provincial-level nighttime commercial blocks and over 10 state-level nighttime commercial blocks by 2022.
