Wuxi in Jiangsu province and Huangshan in Anhui province signed an agreement in Wuxi on Sept 18 to deepen regional cooperation in the internet of things (IoT) industry.
According to the deal, the two sides will deepen cooperation in IoT, digital economy and smart tourism by promoting the construction of technological application transformation bases and new-type research and development institutions.
The two cities will share more resources and build an industrial market, according to officials.
The deal was inked in the presence of Wuxi Mayor Du Xiaogang and his Huangshan counterpart Sun Yong. Sun led a delegation of government officials from Huangshan to learn about the latest technological achievements and applications in Wuxi's IoT industry.
Du welcomed the delegation and gave a briefing on the development of the IoT industry in Wuxi. He said that Wuxi leads the country in IoT development and is working as a national sensor network demonstration zone.
Both sides urged the two cities to learn from each other in order to bring about high-quality development.
