A number of popular scenic spots in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province will be holding a variety of special activities to attract visitors during the upcoming eight-day National Day holiday, which includes the Mid-Autumn Festival on Oct 1 this year.
Nianhuawan Scenic Area

Over 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of flowers at the Nianhuawan Scenic Area are about to become blooming. The flowers include verbena, sulfur chrysanthemum, sunflower, zinnia and cleome.
More than 100 kinds of hanfu, a type of traditional Chinese attire which has seen a resurgence among young people in recent years, will be available for free to visitors during the holiday.
On the night of Oct 1, a giant artificial moon will be lit up alongside the real moon in celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival, and a 300-drone light show and firework shows will be held at "Smile Square" with an 18-meter-high moveable sculpture at its center in celebration of National Day.

Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot

The Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot is China's only Buddhist theme park that displays Sakyamuni's achievements. It features an 88-meter-tall bronze Sakyamuni statue, a large music fountain called "Nine Dragons Bathing Shakyamuni", and the Lingshan Buddhist Palace.
During the holiday, there will be a variety of cultural performances and activities, including a grand parade featuring novice Lingshan monks and Zen dancers, auspicious Tibetan dances, and flower offerings, giving visitors a chance to pray for good fortune.

Yuantouzhu Scenic Area

Yuantouzhu is a peninsula located at the northwestern side of Taihu Lake. The Yuantouzhu Scenic Area is currently celebrating the Taihu Lake Fishing Flavor Festival, which will last until November.
Activities will include sailboat shows, outdoor music concerts, boat trips, and food fairs, allowing visitors to enjoy the area's beautiful scenery, experience the local lifestyle, and taste local Taihu specialties.
In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a group of female dancers will perform at night with lanterns in their hands.
