A total of 160 works of Yixing Jun-glazed pottery will be on display at the exhibition hall of the Beijing People's Fine Arts Publishing House from Oct 10 to 15.

The exhibits include 18 historical heritages from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and 142 modern works by 33 artists, offering a wide range of works such as jars, basins, plates, bottles, bowls, statues, tripods and pottery benches.

Yixing Jun-glazed pottery historically refers to the earthenware produced in the Jingshan area of Dingshu town, Yixing. Its main features include Jun glaze and embossed decorations.

Yixing Jun-glazed pottery has remained popular due its unique artistic charm. It is not only collected by domestic and foreign museums, but is also often used for national gifts. Many Jun-glazed pottery artists are often invited overseas for art exchanges and live performances and have won many honors for China.

In 2014, Yixing Jun-glazed pottery was listed among the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritages.
