The city of Jiangyin in East China's Jiangsu province hosted an economic and trade cooperation fair on Oct 16.
With the slogan "new starting point, new industry, new momentum, and new opportunity", the fair attracted nearly 500 buyers from over 10 countries and regions including Italy, England, Japan, South Korea and Israel.
A total of 137 projects worth 91.15 billion yuan ($13.6 billion) were signed during the fair, focusing on various manufacturing and service industries such as new energy, new materials, smart warehousing, transportation, logistics, biomedicine and cross-border e-commerce.
Well-known Jiangyin-based garment company Heilan Group signed to work with CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group, the largest manufacturer of special steel in China, to build industrial internet for the iron and steel industry.
Directors from the two companies said the partnership is expected to become a model for the development of intelligent manufacturing in the metallurgical industry.

During the fair, 10 experts, scholars and well-known entrepreneurs from different industries and fields were hired as city development consultants for Jiangyin to provide suggestions on how to achieve high-quality development.
The consultants included Wu Guoping, chairman of Wuxi Lingshan Cultural Tourism Group, Zhang Zhaohui, senior vice president of WuXi AppTec, and Jia Xiangbo, director of Wuxi Biocity.
