Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province signed a deal on Oct 23 with the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications to deepen cooperation in 5G, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property protection.
According to the deal, both sides will focus on national strategies such as artificial intelligence and new infrastructure and make use of resources such as markets, policies, industries, scientific research, and talent. They will work to promote the application of national key research and development programs related to the intellectual property protection of digital products and establish a national laboratory in artificial intelligence, an advanced research institute in new infrastructure, a 5G science and technology park, and a service platform for the artificial intelligence industry in Wuxi.
Wuxi Party Secretary Huang Qin discussed the state of the information technology industry in Wuxi during the signing ceremony. He said that the two sides first agreed to cooperate in 2009 and have made many achievements since then.
Qiao Jianyong, president of the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, was also optimistic about cooperation between the school and Wuxi. He said the university, with its information and communications technology, is highly compatible with the new-generation information technology industry of Wuxi.
