More than 7,000 buyers from 1,403 enterprises in Wuxi will leave for Shanghai to attend the upcoming third China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held from Nov 5 to 10, according to local commerce bureau.
Half of the participating enterprises have expressed strong interest in purchasing services related to logistics, information technology, inspection and testing, certification, and supply chain management at the exhibition area of trade in services, according to a representative from Wuxi commerce bureau.
A manager at a local manufacturing enterprise said the service process for international logistics has been simplified thanks to modern technologies such as internet of things, big data, and artificial intelligence, which has the potential to enhance transportation efficiency. The company plans to seek out logistics solutions at the CIIE.
Yu Huanchun, chairman of Jinqiao International Food Town, said this will be the third time that the company has found business partners at the CIIE. Yu said that the company signed deals worth over $90 million last year, many of which have become popular products in the food town.
More local enterprise will be able to attend online and offline matchmaking events during the CIIE, according to local officials.
Though affected by COVID-19, this year's CIIE is attracting global exhibitors in droves. This year's event has an expanded total exhibition area, nearly 50 Fortune 500 and industry-leading companies participating for the first time, and will feature international debuts of hundreds of new products, technologies and services, according to Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau.
