The 16th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo will be held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province from Nov 14 to 16, according to a news conference on Nov 10.
This year's event will showcase thousands of designs from 262 domestic and foreign design enterprises and institutions in a 24,600-square-meter exhibition hall at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center.
Four themed exhibitions will display designs from China Patent Award-winning enterprises and outstanding global design enterprises, as well as local art and geographical indications.
The event will also include an opening ceremony, two award ceremonies for the 21st China Design Patent Award and the 9th Taihu Award Design Competition, and three forums themed on innovative design, the protection of designs and intellectual property, and innovation in additive manufacturing.
Sponsored by the National Intellectual Property Administration and the World Intellectual Property Organization, the China Design Patent Award is the only granted by the corresponding government department in China for inventions and creations with patent rights.
Various figures involved in design, including Shan Zhongde, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Han Meilin, a veteran artist and designer, were also invited to the event.
Established in 2000, the China (Wuxi) International Design Expo is the only international design event sponsored by the National Intellectual Property Administration.
