Wuxi will complete renovations on 2.66 million square meters of living area by the end of this year, benefiting around 28,000 residents of old residential communities, according to the local housing and urban-rural development department.
Fengzeyuan Community, located on Guangrui Road in Liangxi district, piloted this year's renovations with higher standards by spending 500 yuan ($76.6) per square meter. The 63,700-square-meter community is home to 614 households in 18 buildings.
The project manager said that they have rebuilt the ground to ensure that no water accumulates in the surface when raining. In addition, more vegetation such as grass and shrubs has been planted inside the community.
