A development plan of the Jiangyin Port has been approved by experts to promote its high-quality development under national strategies, said Yang Jionghao, deputy director of the Jiangyin Port development bureau.
Yang said that Jiangyin Port is expected to develop into a comprehensive modern port in the Yangtze River Delta, which can support international cargo in the region, especially in Shanghai.
In 2020, the cargo route between Jiangyin Port to Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port was opened for foreign trade. Shipping between the two ports only takes 13 hours. The cargo route between Jiangyin and Ningbo, Zhejiang province will also open this year, Yang said.
