Yixing's sports tourism route named "Jiangnan Water Town" was awarded as a national top 10 route in 2020 by the General Administration of Sport of China recently.
It is the second time for the route to win the award due to its wonderful natural views and cultural contexts, which are suitable for various sports.
The 22-kilometer sports tourism route features the main water body in Yixing and popular tourist attractions like Longbeishan Forest Park, Tuanjiu scenic area, Yangshandang scenic area, as well as Yixing Culture Center. Along the route, visitors can experience water sports like motor boating, sailing, water skiing, and dragon boating, as well as participate in land sports like Nordic walking, orienteering, and marathons.

Yixing has also increased its investment in the integrated development of its sports, cultural, and tourism industries. More than 10 sports parks, including Longchishan Bicycle Park and Deep Oxygen Fitness Park, have been opened to the public.
The promotion of national top 10 sports tourism routes is one of the key events of the annual China Sports Tourism Expo. In 2020, 190 sports tourism projects were awarded from 832 participants, whiled 54 projects were named as "top 10" in the four categories of scenic areas, sports events, routes, and destinations.
