East China's Jiangsu province has entered the local "two sessions" season, with its annual provincial legislative meeting opening in Nanjing on Jan 25.
The local "two sessions" refer to the annual meetings of provincial-level lawmakers and political advisors, where they discuss local economic and social development over the past year, as well as make plans for the year to come.
The Wuxi delegation to the local "two sessions" arrived at Nanjing days before and made preparations to make suggestions to the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, as well as submit proposals to the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Zhou Minwei, chairman of the 14th Wuxi Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, urged provincial political advisers from Wuxi to earnestly perform their duties, actively participate in the discussion of provincial affairs, and speak more for Wuxi.
Zhou Yejun, a member of the 12th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, said that Wuxi, Nantong, Suzhou, and Changzhou could work together to build a high-end textile industry cluster in Jiangsu, with a number of leading smart factories and textile enterprises.
The fourth session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress opened afterwards on Jan 26.
Zhu Hong, a deputy to the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, suggested further integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, aiming to drive the overall revitalization of rural areas.
Fu Hongtuo agreed with Zhu and expressed hope that more measures will be released to develop the seed industry, which is known as the core of agriculture.
